Frequently Asked Questions

If you encounter a "Failed to patch this install" error, it usually means your Discord files are currently in use or you don't have the necessary permissions. Make sure you fully close Discord from the system tray, run the installer as Administrator, and try again. If the issue persists, consider reinstalling Discord and then applying SecretCord.

Yes, SecretCord is entirely safe. Our code is open source and we prioritize privacy by removing Discord's telemetry. However, like all client modifications, it violates Discord's Terms of Service. While bans for using client mods are extremely rare, you use it at your own risk.

SecretCord comes with a built-in plugin manager. Go to User Settings > SecretCord > Plugins to enable or disable features. For themes, head to User Settings > SecretCord > Themes where you can browse and apply community themes directly from the client.

Discord updates frequently change their internal structure, which can break plugins. SecretCord's auto-updater usually fetches patches within a few hours. If something is broken, simply wait for a fix and restart your client to pull the latest SecretCord update.
